Strengthening Pedagogical Practice – South Waikato

 

This SELO is open by invitation to services in the South Waikato education district.

Running from November 2021 – September 2022, this kaupapa will support teams to strengthen quality teaching and learning practices aligned to Te Whāriki, with the following expected outcomes:

 

  • Kaiako will explore relevant theories and practice that align with the principles, strands and goals of Te Whāriki 2017, through planning, assessment and evaluation to provide quality outcomes for mokopuna.
  • Kaiako will explore ways to collaborate with mokopuna as active learners, following their individual interests, dispositions and whānau and life contexts, evidenced in their portfolios and learning stories that extend learning.
  • Kaiako will work together in teams in more meaningful ways to provide quality outcomes through a wide range of experiences and reciprocal relationships.
  • The services philosophy will guide practice, with evidence documented showing the implementation of ongoing internal evaluation that maintains and improves the quality of service education and care.
  • Comprehensive human resource practices, including selection and appointment, induction and role clarity, appraisal and professional development and discipline procedures will be evidenced.
