What We Mean By Professional Learning

Tā mātou mō te Ako Ngaio

At ELP, we see Professional Learning as an extensive, ongoing process where teachers and centre managers develop their experiences and extend their knowledge as they strive to continually improve upon their practice.

Learning needs to be engaging and relevant for each individual, which is why ELP works with each setting to identify a research and learning focus that is relevant to their unique setting.

Through the development of Setting Facilitators, ELP strives to develop highly motivated and respected professional learning advocates within each setting. These setting facilitators become champions for ongoing professional learning and have the necessary skills to support their teams as they embark on learning journeys.
